Ghana Week Celebration At The VGS 2023

Greetings, fellow adventurers! Victoria Grammar School just wrapped up an epic week of celebrating Ghana and its rich cultural heritage. From exploring the bustling streets of Accra to venturing out into the beautiful countryside, our students had a blast experiencing all that this amazing country has to offer.

One of the highlights of the week was a mapped bus ride through certain streets of Accra. Our students were able to see some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the Jubilee House, Independence Square, and the Makola Market. It was an incredible opportunity to see Ghana’s capital city up close and personal.

Another exciting adventure was a trip to the Tema Harbour and other key sites in Tema. Students in Years 2 and 3 had an amazing time touring the harbor in a bus and exploring some of the area’s most interesting attractions.

But it wasn’t all about sightseeing and exploration. Our students also had the chance to experience some of Ghana’s amazing cultural traditions. We enjoyed a preschool cultural dance show and a drama by our amazing teachers, featuring the legendary Ananse and the Yam Hills.

And of course, we couldn’t forget about Ghana’s Independence Day! Our students celebrated the country’s 66th anniversary with an epic parade that left everyone feeling proud and patriotic.

All in all, Ghana Week was an incredible experience that our students will never forget. It was a chance to learn about this amazing country, its people, and its culture, all while having fun and making memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to everyone who helped make this week such a huge success!
